It takes 12 minutes in an air fryer set at 360 F (180 c) to cook egg bites in an air fryer.
If you have already made the egg bites, it only takes 30 seconds (from the fridge) to 2 minutes (frozen) to reheat them in the microwave.

- Silicone mold – either individual silicone cupcake liners or a purpose-bought silicone egg bite mold.

What ingredients do I need to make egg bites?
This easy air fryer recipe only needs a short list of simple ingredients. I used the below, but everything except the eggs and milk is optional!
- Eggs – shock!
- Milk
- Onion (red, white, or green onion)
- Bell pepper
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Ham or leftover cooked bacon bits – remove for vegetarian egg bites.
- Salt
- Black pepper
You can really experiment with egg bites. Do not be limited by what I used in this recipe. They are a great way to use up some leftover vegetables and cheeses (feta cheese is a great one to add).
How to cook egg bites in an air fryer
This really is an easy healthy breakfast recipe. Follow these steps and you will be delighted with the yummy results every single time.
Step 1 – Select and prepare your ingredients.
Choose your vegetables and ham (if using) and finely chop them.
Step 2 – Prepare the silicone molds or liners
Spray each silicone egg mold once, with oil or cooking spray.
Add your chopped vegetables and ham.
Step 3 – Pre-heat the air fryer
Pre-heat the air fryer for 1-2 minutes to 360 F (180 c).
For best results soften the vegetables a little bit. To do this put the silicone mold with the veg and ham inside the air fryer basket.
Step 4 – Prepare the egg mixture
While the air fryer pre-heats and softens the vegetables. Crack the eggs into the jug and add the milk, salt, and black pepper. Use a fork to combine it all.
Step 5 – Add the egg mixture
Once the air fryer has pre-heated and you have the egg mixture ready, take out your air fryer drawer or basket. Pour the egg mixture into the silicone cups carefully.
Step 6 – Add cheese
On top of each soon-to-be egg bite, add the shredded cheese.
Step 7 – Cook
Cook the egg bites for 12 minutes until the eggs are set.
Step 8 – Serve or cool
After 12 minutes your delicious egg bites will be ready to serve. Or let them cool before putting them in the fridge or freezer for later.
Top tips
Stack Molds – If you want to make big batches and your air fryer can accommodate more than one egg bite mold. You can stack them on top of each other.
Use pre-heating – To save time add the molds with the veg in while the air fryer pre-heats. Softening the veg before you add the egg mixture.
Batch cook – To get ahead of the game on those busy mornings make egg bites in advance.
Experiment – Do not be limited by my selection of ingredients. Experiment with any vegetables you have lying around. Making egg bites is also great fun with kids as they can all make their own combinations.
